Now at selected RAC Auto Services

You can now book a vehicle licence examination at RAC Auto Services in Balcatta, Bentley, Perth, Joondalup, Myaree, Osborne Park and Morley on behalf of the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DPI).

• Prior bookings are essential.
• Available to RAC members and non-members.
• Avoid lengthy waiting lines at DPI inspection sites.
• Accessible locations.

A two step process:

Step one

Your vehicle is examined at RAC Auto Services by a licensed examiner.

RAC can examine vehicles:

• Up to 2,500kg (this includes most commercial and 4WDs).
• With expired registrations.
• Relocated from another state.
• Requiring annual inspections, including taxis.

Current exclusions: modified cars, stretch limousines, trailers, motorcycles, written-off vehicles, heavy vehicles (trucks and cars with yellow/green work orders), caravans and LPG conversions. 

Step two

Take your vehicle plus the DPI Certificate of Inspection (the green form issued by the RAC) and original proof of identity to one of DPI's six metropolitan vehicle examination centres.
